The Almoguera importance was very big in ancient times, being justified by the strategic situation along with the river Tagus, and in way towards the enclaves alcarreños of Pastrana, the Tajuña, Brihuega, etc. With complete certainty, Almoguera was populated by the Arabs. His name already indicates us an affiliation Islamic, and some ancient documents indicate also to have been several centuries under the mastery of the Moors.
